Owner / Consultant - After successfully implementing the changes needed at Starpak, I resumed my contracting practice. I have provided database application design / development, hardware support, training course syllabus development for various clients. These clients have ranged from small (1 person) companies to large Corporations.

Software Configuration Management design and implementation for a Major Computer Manufacturer that used Hewlett Packard 9000's. This involved evaluation of existing policies & processes and conversion into a product called ClearCase. ClearCase is a product that allows object-oriented, multiple site code development. The contract entailed the tailoring and installation of X11R6 and the code management for all the source files for 25 application programmers.
Business systems analyst for a major voice and data cabling provider in the Rocky Mountian region. This initially began as a Novell Netware system cleanup, and grew into systems upgrades / network standardization / and business systems optimizations to permit more efficient utilization of resources.
Emergency systems support for a Greeley area outbound telemarketer. This involved providing off-shift support for applications (Visual Basic and Netware) and systems (ROLM) emergencies to augment their in-house staff.
Provided an outsourced information technology department for an oil and gas company that maintained three sites in Colorado. This involved complete LAN/WAN/Workstation maintenance and pro-active planning. This company initially called ProCCI in to assist with an emergency file server recovery that eventually resulted in the customer delegating all computing services and support to us. This LAN and WAN used NT, Novell, Win 95, Access, IBM routers, dedicated data circuits (from 56 Kb frame relay up to a T1 line), SQL server 6.5, Exchange Server, MS Mail Server, and sharing of resources over a WAN. We were instrumental in designing and implementing the SQL server database implementation and the Access front end clients for it.

Provided Tier 1, 2 and 3 technical support for a major Test and Measurement Corporation. This was for a Unix and Windows based 3070 board test system. In this position, I also provided consulting services for the lab during migration from Unix to Windows.
Provided backup network and workstation support for a Northern Colorado Architectural firm. The network migrated (over the years) from a Netware server to an NT server with PC's as the workstations were replaced.

Information Systems Manager - I was converted from a contractor to implement sweeping improvements into the Corporation's 8-years of home-grown systems and design the Information Systems infrastructure necessary to allow the growth rate of 100% per year.

I developed and led a team to accomplish the following tasks:

Consolidate the production applications from 200 to 30,
Developed standards, policies and procedures,
Normalized data base structures to permit expansion into SQL structures as company growth dictates,
Support staff manpower reductions while increasing service responsiveness,
Reduction of computer costs (by over 50%) while increasing capabilities associated with work-station acquisition,
Reduction of repair costs for work-station support,
Reduction of telecommunications costs (by over 30%),
Standardization of voice and data networking. This resulted in uptime going from 40% to 99%.,
Management of a $2 million budget, while reducing capital expenditures (through bidding and specifications) over 40%.

Senior Vice President, Application Development - I have provided database application design / development, hardware support, training course syllabus development for various clients. These clients have ranged from small (1 person) companies to large Corporations. These projects have used structured design methodologies, and have utilized CASE (Computer Aided Software Engineering) tools as much as possible. Several of my recent projects that I have been involved with include:

Acting Information Systems Director for a major Fulfillment and Technical Support company in support of numerous Fortune 500 Corporations. We used Clipper, Visual Basic and C on Novell 3.11 and 3.12 for on-line order processing, on-line technical support and seminar registrations. These were accomplished through interactive telephone operators as well as via mail-in information. Frequent response times were a matter of days for system design and implementation.
During my stay, we were able to accomplish (for the first time in the company's history) full programming standards, network standards, software configuration management (for over 200 different applications), programmer training on Clipper, we also incorporated the use of a standard suite of programming tools and implemented re-usable documented source code, design and implement a corporate data structure, and perform significant network clean-ups. I also headed an effort that allowed this company to be the first to ever receive a clean bill of health from an SPA / BSA software audit.
Application design and development, programmer mentoring, and user coordination for a large Federal Financial organization. This involved the use of Clipper S87, 5.01a and Banyan Vines. Migrated applications from S87 into 5.01a for several aspects of financial closure processes.
Application design and development for a large Dairy Herd Management Corporation. This involved using Clipper S87 and Clipper 5.2c, PC's in a wide area network, IBM System 36 and RPGII. The applications included long-term strategic management and short-term application development to track and monitor cattle inventory/production throughout each dairy farm.
Software Configuration Management design and implementation for a Major Department of Defense real-time flight simulator contractor that used Sun Sparc2's and Harris NightHawks. The contract entailed the tailoring and installation of X11R5 and the code management for over 12,000 source files with shell(csh and korn) code scripts for the compiling of Unix Ada, C, and C++ source code for 15 application programmers.
Application specification, design, and development for a Major Department of Defense contractor that used HyperCard 2.01, Apple Macintosh's, and Oracle for Macintosh. This application is being used in a highly classified work area as a single user application.
Application specification, design, and development for a large Federal Agency that used Clipper Summer 87, Banyan Vines 4.00(2) in a wide area network. The application is being used for tracking funds transfers between various institutions.
Report design and development for a large Federal Agency that used Clipper 5.0, Novell Netware SFT 2.15 as a wide area network and utilized remote access via several telecommunications methods. The application was to be used for accident tracking and statistical analysis for accidents occurring on Federal Property. Also, for this contract, I was involved in helping the lead support person configure their wide-area network for increased usability and throughput.
Database application design and development for a large military client that involved Clipper Summer 87, Novell Netware SFT 2.15, and remote telecommunications. The application was to be used for personnel tracking.
Database application design and development for a large State agency that involved FoxBase+, SCO XENIX, and remote access. The application was to be used for statistical benchmarking for various illness rates.
I have provided hardware repair support for each of my clients as necessary. I have a personal computer build-out and generalized repair background that allows me to properly isolate causes of most problems.

Senior Engineer, Configuration Technical Requirements - I was responsible for the design and implementation of an IBM Personal Computer(PC) and Macintosh based Novell network. This effort involved the initial effort of scoping-out the existing mainframe, micro computers, and application software in use before the task of developing (and maintaining) the optimum networked application could be developed. My group was responsible for developing the foundation network topology, and for then implementing the cross-platform database applications. For the databases, we used FoxBase+ / Mac and FoxPro / PC. Prior responsibilities included the design and implementation of an IBM PC based system for use by the Configuration Requirements and Documentation area. This system complied(or exceeded when required) all applicable specifications identified in DoD regulations, Military Specifications, NASA Specifications, Air Force Regulations, and Company Policies and Procedures. It was adopted as the standard tool for all the smaller projects that could not cost justify mainframe utilization. That system had the capability to plan, monitor and evaluate all activities related to drawing releases, requirements identification, drawing change information, liaison call sheet status, contract change scheduling, proposal tracking, data package releases, indentured bills of material, and specialized reporting. Additional comprehensive systems were developed and implemented for Procurement/Purchasing, Scientific Software Engineering, and Antenna Design Engineering.

Senior Engineer, Configuration Technical Requirements - Provided Configuration Management support to proposal teams from external groups. Performed detailed analysis of existing methods and procedures with specific recommendations for cost-savings. Developed procedures for establishing an as-manufactured baseline, as-engineered baseline, and an efficient method of resolving discrepancies. I also organized physical audits of the configuration verification reports and launch site activities. I was the primary interface with Martin Marietta Data Systems(MMDS) and Management Information Systems(MIS) for the development of customized needs from mainframe systems. As a result of these activities I was able to take lead Space Shuttle Launch Complex from a schedule slippage/cost loss situation into a schedule compliance/profit situation.

My position involved working with departments in Production Operations. The major areas reporting to me were: Administrative Accounting, Document Control, Systems Design, and Data Entry. Prior assignments included the lead for the design and implementation of a Material Requirements Planning(MRP) system, and assembly/detail/tooling planning.
